Riccardo Palma is Assistant Professor in Architectural and Urban Composition at the Department of Architectural and Industrial Design of Polytechnic of Turin (DIPRADI) where he teaches in the domain of architectural design. He is also member of Doctorate in Architecture and Building Design of Polytechnic of Turin (DAPe). His research activity, inserted in the research group of Giancarlo Motta, focuses on the architectural design procedures with particular reference to the relationships between cartographic representation of site and project architectures and to modalities of theory writing in architecture.
He has published several essays in Italy and in foreign countries. Between the most recent there is Détournements. Les figures cartographiques de la géographie dans le projet architecural (in Aa. Vv., Figures de la ville et construction des savoirs, CNRS Editions, Parigi 2005). About these topics he has wrote the book L’immaginario cartografico dell’architettura (Tecnograph, Bergamo 2002), and he has edited some books as Architettura, spazio scritto (UTET, Torino 2001) and Macchine nascoste. Discipline e tecniche di rappresentazione nella composizione architettonica (UTET, Torino 2004).
