Biography

Francesco Provenzano is an Designer Director with more than 10 years of experience in the fields of Strategy, User Experience, User Interface, Service Design and Inclusive Design. During his professional career he has carried out projects for various industries: from finance & banking to healthcare, from automotive to culture and tourism. He is in charge of managing projects and activities of different levels of complexity and coordinates the work of multidisciplinary teams; he uses a user-centred approach to design valuable services and experiences. He teaches Human Digital Interaction and Design for e-commerce at Politecnico di Torino. The aim of his teaching and research activity is to combine a human-centred approach to solid methodologies such as Double Diamond and Design Thinking to respond to design challenges.

Francesco Provenzano, a lecturer in Human Digital Interaction and Design for Digital Retail at the Politecnico di Torino, broadens his educational commitment with the "User Experience for Inclusive Design" course at ISTUD Business School, focused on inclusive design, accessibility, and usability of digital products for all users.

Furthermore, he is the creator, Scientific Director, and host of the Design Dialogues Days, an annual festival celebrating innovation and creativity in digital design, now in its fifth edition. Through speeches, talks, workshops, and hackathons, the festival fosters learning and inspiration among students, professionals, and enthusiasts.

As an International Judge and Speaker expert in Inclusive Design, since 2018, Francesco has been participating in international competitions such as the CSS Design Awards, assessing excellence in the digital realm. He is also an active part of the ADI permanent observatory, where, alongside other members, he selects standout projects for the ADI Design Index, a cornerstone for the awarding of the prestigious Compasso d'Oro, thus recognising excellence in Italian and international design.

Francesco is dedicated to research in Design for All, aiming to make design more accessible and inclusive. His work centres on overcoming digital barriers, creating intuitive solutions usable by a wide demographic. He explores techniques to embed accessibility right from the initial design stages, ensuring every product or service is usable by all, regardless of their abilities.

Service Design and Design Thinking
In his research, Provenzano delves into Service Design and Design Thinking, exploring how these approaches can revolutionise user experience. He focuses on creating services that not only meet user needs but are also emotionally engaging. Applying Design Thinking principles, he seeks innovative solutions that enhance the interaction between users and services, making them more effective and fulfilling.

User Experience and User Interface
Provenzano's research in User Experience and User Interface aims to optimise the interaction between users and digital technology.
