Call for papers | Relating Systems Thinking and Design Symposium - RSD15

RSD15, the 15th Relating Systems Thinking and Design Symposium organised by Systemic Design Association, this year will take place in Turin, hosted by Sys - Systemic Design Lab, Politecnico di Torino.

This year’s theme, “Shades of Systemic Design", explores how design engages with complex societal and ecological challenges through a plurality of approaches, contexts and ways of knowing.
We welcome a wide range of contributions, including methodological reflections, project-based contributions, and case studies.
The purpose of RSD15 is to create a space for dialogue and reflection on geographies and ecologies, pedagogies and methods, visions and ontologies, practices and tools.

Event dates:

  • 8–9 October 2026: online sessions
  • 13–16 October 2026: in-person event at Valentino Castle, Turin, Italy
Submissions may take different formats:
  • Full/short papers
  • PhD colloquium
  • On-site workshops & interactives
  • Contribution for the exhibit “Data in relation”
Deadlines:
  • Intent to submit - by communicating title & author(s) → April 24, 2026
  • Final submission for Workshops and exhibition/map briefs → May 8, 2026
  • Final submission for Full papers (long & short) and PhD Colloquium papers → May 22, 2026
