“Rural Reactivation Through Architecture” seminar & “Ancient Trails and Their Possible Futures" exhibition opening

Castello del Valentino - Viale Mattioli 39, Torino

The scientific seminar titled “Rural Reactivation Through Architecture” will be held at 4:00 PM in the Sala dello Zodiaco, Castello del Valentino, and will feature contributions from internationally renowned scholars. The seminar is scientifically coordinated by Roberto Dini (Politecnico di Torino, DAD, Istituto di Architettura Montana – IAM) and Lidia Preti (Politecnico di Torino, DAD, China Room).

It will be followed by the opening of the exhibition “Ancient Trails and Their Possible Futures: Rural Reactivation Through Architecture along the Tea-Horse Trail in Yunnan, China and the Via Francigena in Italy”. The scientific curators of the exhibition are: Martijn de Geus (Tsinghua University, School of Architecture); Roberto Dini (Politecnico di Torino, DAD, Istituto di Architettura Montana – IAM), Lidia Preti (Politecnico di Torino, DAD, China Room) and Yi Shen (Tsinghua University, School of Architecture).
The exhibition is financed as a dissemination activity within the framework of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) – Mission 4 “Education and Research”, specifically within the TNE project LEGO Italy–East Asia Cooperation: from Local Expertise to a Global Outlook.
It is also part of the Politecnico Aperto – Lab Tour within the Biennale Tecnologia initiative.
