Workshop in Parigi: L'abitare senza dimora

A workshop to look at the city from a different perspective, questioning the very meaning of dwelling, curated by the student team TOC² – To Common, To Care.

The central theme is homelessness in Paris, where people without shelter represent only the most visible part of a much broader phenomenon of housing precarity.
What practices and strategies do they develop to inhabit urban space? And what kinds of relationships do they build with support and assistance services?

This workshop, which will take place in Paris from 8 to 12 June, was conceived to explore these questions together with the association La Cloche, an organization that works against the social exclusion of people in situations of precarity by fostering local social ties and promoting a more inclusive society.

Through meetings, urban explorations, and moments of collective discussion, we will seek to understand what it truly means to “inhabit without a home”, observing how city spaces are lived in and transformed by those who do not have access to housing. The workshop will also provide an opportunity to reflect on the right to the city as a common good, accessible to everyone, and on urban policies that often restrict the free use of space and encourage its privatization.

Travel, accommodation, and subsistence expenses will be reimbursed for 4 students.
Participation in the activities of the student team grants university credits.
