Il Centro Interdipartimentale FULL – The Future Urban legacy Lab. in occasione della mostra Vertical Urban Factory organizza una
FULL Lecture con la curatrice Prof.ssa Nina Rappaport, che si terrà lunedì il 12 febbraio alle 16:30 nell’Aula Magna della sede del Lingotto, a seguire l’opening della mostra dalle ore 18:00.
Nina Rappaport è storica e critica dell’architettura, curatrice di mostre e ricerche. Per la Yale School of Architecture è direttrice responsabile delle pubblicazioni, della pubblicazione biennale Constructs, dei cataloghi delle mostre e della collana di libri della School of Architecture.
È anche a capo del progetto di ricerca Vertical Urban Factory, che ha prodotto, un libro, ricerche, consulenze per gli spazi della manifattura urbana e una mostra Vertical Urban Factory - L'architettura della produzione industriale ieri, oggi e domani. La mostra presenta le innovazioni nella progettazione architettonica, nell’ingegneria strutturale applicate su edifici industriali emblematici dall'inizio del XX secolo ad oggi. Come risposta alle incerte economie delle nazioni postindustriali questa mostra si concentra su due questioni centrali: possiamo ancora costruire fabbriche che offrano soluzioni sostenibili adattate alle città di domani? In un momento in cui il settore manifatturiero sta sviluppando processi sostenibili e producendo su scala ridotta, come può la città integrare nuove fabbriche nel suo tessuto?

La mostra durerà dal 12 febbraio al 15 marzo 2018, è ospitata nella sede del Lingotto, Via Nizza 230, al piano ammezzato.
FULL – the Future Urban Legacy Lab. is pleased to announce the lecture of Prof. Nina Rappaport. The Lecture will be held the 12th of February, at 4.30 pm, Aula Magna - Lingotto, Via Nizza 230. At 6 pm follows the opening of the Exhibition Vertical Urban Factory curated by Nina Rappaport.
Nina Rappaport is an architectural critic, curator, educator, and consultant. She is publications director at Yale School of Architecture and editor of the biannual publication Constructs, the exhibition catalogs, as well as the school’s book series.
She is the director of the think tank, Vertical Urban Factory, which includes a book, research branch, consultancy for spaces for manufacturers in cities and the exhibition Vertical Urban Factory - The architecture of industrial production yesterday, today and tomorrow. The Exhibition presents innovative methods of architectural design, structural engineering and implementation applied on emblematic industrial buildings since the early twentieth century till today. An appropriate response to the faltering economies of post-industrial nations, this exhibition focuses on two central questions: can we again build factories offering sustainable solutions adapted to the autonomous cities of tomorrow? And at a time when the manufacturing sector is deploying clean processes and producing on a smaller scale, how can the city think to integrate new factories into its fabric?
