La Joint Research Unit “Transitional Morphologies”, nata nel 2018 dalla collaborazione tra la southeast University di Nanchino e il Politecnico di Torino (co-diretta dalla professoressa BAO Li e dal professor Marco Trisciuoglio) parteciperà alla Notte Europea dei Ricercatori il prossimo 24 e 25 settembre a Torino con due diverse iniziative promosse dal DAD, Dipartimento di Architettura e design del Politecnico di Torino (gruppo di lavoro: Michela Barosio, with Martina Crapolicchio, Rossella Gugliotta, LIN Yang, Ana Ricchiardi, Zeynep Tulumen, ZHANG Ting).

Passeggiata urbana: FORMA URBANA E ARCHITETTURA. “TRANSITIONAL URBAN MORPHOLOGIES”
La lezione itinerante (insieme a marco Trisciuoglio) si svolgerà attraverso le vie del centro storico per scoprire il tessuto della città romana, alcuni frammenti della città gotica, i palazzi nobiliari barocchi e i palazzi da reddito ottocenteschi. La passeggiata mostrerà la transizione, attraverso le epoche storiche, tra le diverse configurazioni spaziali sia a scala urbana, sia a scala architettonica.

Il docu.movie (prodotto dal DAD MULTIMEDIALab con il supporto di ScuDo, la Scuola di Dottorato del Politecnico di Torino) è il risultato del Corso di eccellenza promosso dalla Joint Research Unit “Transitional Morphologies” nell’a.a. 202/2021.
Cinque studiosi internazionali, specializzati in morfologia urbana, rispondono alle domande che seguono: Come sono fatte le nostre città? Come cambiano, nel tempo, gli spazi urbani, le strade e gli edifici? Cosa succede alla forma delle città nel passaggio tra la metà del XX secolo e i giorni nostri? Cosa sta avvenendo alla forma urbana nel passaggio dalla città europea alla città asiatica? Quali strumenti abbiamo per studiare tutto ciò?

The “Transitional Morphologies” Joint Research Unit established in 2018 between Southeast University in Nanjing and Politecnico di Torino (and co-directed by Prof. BAO Li and Prof. Marco Trosciuoglio), will take part to the “European Researchers’ Night” on next September 24^th and 25^th 2021 in Torino through some initiatives promoted by DAD, the Department of Architecture and Design at Politecnico di Torino (work team: Michela Barosio, with Martina Crapolicchio, Rossella Gugliotta, LIN Yang, Ana Ricchiardi, Zeynep Tulumen, ZHANG Ting).

Walking Tours: URBAN FORM AND ARCHITECTURE. “TRANSITIONAL” URBAN MORPHOLOGIES
The walking lectures (together with Marco Trisciuoglio) wind through some streets of the city of Torino, to discover the Roman urban fabrics, fragments of the Gothic city, baroque noble palaces and later "rent houses". The guided tour will show the “transition” over time from one morphological configuration to another, both at the urban scale and at the level of the building decoration.

The form of contemporary urban settlements in Europe and Asia

The docu-movie (produced by DAD MULTIMEDIALab and supported by ScuDo, the PhD School at Politecnico di Torino) is the outcome of a PhD Excellence Course promoted by “Transitional Morphologies” Joint Research Unit in years 2020/2021.
Five international scientists, urban morphologists, answer these questions: how are our cities made? How do urban spaces, streets and buildings change over time? What happened to urban forms from the mid-twentieth century until today? What is happening to the shape of cities between Europe and Asia? Which kind of instruments do we have to study all this?
