A series marking the 10th anniversary of the China Room research group
Cosmologies series continues with the screening of Ascension (2021), directed by Jessica Kingdon.
The film offers a hypnotic portrait of contemporary China through rituals of labour, production, and social mobility, tracing how collective aspiration is shaped within global capitalism.
The screening will be followed by a critical discussion on the themes raised by the film, reflecting on the relationship between design, technology, and society.
The event is held within the Tecnologia Diffusa (Biennale Tecnologia) framework and in partnership with the Università Popolare di Torino.
Moderated by Valentina Labriola, the film selections will be accompanied by a critical dialogue between Professor Francesca Frassoldati (DAD) and Professor Alessandro Armando (DAD).
